This conference focuses on the animal and public health aspects of methicillin-resistant staphylococci (MRS), including transmission of MRS between humans and animals (including livestock, companion animals and wildlife); livestock-associated MRSA in the healthcare facilities and the community; diagnosis, management and prevention of infections in animals; infection control in hospitals, the community and in animal production, and the role of antimicrobial use in the dissemination of MRS. With sessions on the epidemiology of livestock-associated MRSA (LA-MRSA); the epidemiology of MRSA and MRSP in companion animals; genomics; prevention and control of LA-MRSA in healthcare facilities, in the community and on farms; treatment and control of MRSA and MRSP in companion animals; and, diagnostic testing, this conference will be relevant to individuals in the medical, veterinary, public health and associated research fields.
