The new veterinary microbiology study group welcomes new members!

The newly formed Veterinary Microbiology Study Group aims to contribute to the advancement and harmonization of methods for diagnosis and antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) of veterinary pathogens. It will create a European network for the surveillance of zoonoses and antimicrobial resistance in animal populations as well as for early detection of new or exotic infectious agents using animals as sentinels of human disease.

Why not join our study group for forensic and postmortem microbiology?

The ESCMID Study Group for Forensic and Postmortem Microbiology aims to create a new network of microbiologists, virologists, anthropologists and archaeologists working in the field of forensic medicine and facilitate cooperation between (forensic) pathologists and (forensic) microbiologists.

The grant deadline for the workshop on C. difficile in Maribor is 15 June

The postgraduate technical workshop Clostridium Difficile: Practical Aspects of Diagnostics, Typing and Comparative Genomics, which takes place from 2-4 September in Maribor, Slovenia, aims to provide young microbiologists with an updated overview of typing methods for C. difficile. They will be trained in in-vitro susceptibility testing, agarose-based ribotyping, sequencer-based capillary ribotyping, molecular toxin gene detection and use of comparative genomics for epidemiological investigations in daily infection control practise.
