Scientific highlights clip for ECCMID 2015 is available now

Are you already looking forward to joining us for ECCMID 2016 in Istanbul next year? To recall this year’s event and bring back some great memories, you may watch the new clip on the scientific highlights of ECCMID 2015 in Copenhagen. The video gives an overview of some of the topics discussed, outlines some of the results and presents interviews with experts in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology.

The grant deadline for the course on the dosing of old antibiotics is approaching

The deadline to apply for a grant for the course Improving the Dosage of Old Antibiotics in Warsaw, Poland, is 1 September. The registration deadline for the postgraduate education course, which takes place from 19 – 21 November, is 5 October. Presenters will summarize currently available knowledge regarding optimized clinical use of revived old antibiotics such as colistin, fosfomycin, temocillin, pivmecillinam, nitrofurantoin, fusidic acid or minocycline. The goal of the course is to provide participants with an updated insight into clinical PK/PD concepts, improved dosage regimens, combinations and appropriate indications in order to help preserve efficacy of these essential drugs in an era of escalating multi-drug resistance.
