ESCMID: ESGFOR

Aims and objectives

With the aim of promoting standardisation and research in the field of forensic microbiology, the ESCMID Study Group of Forensic and Post-mortem Microbiology (ESGFOR) launched in October 2014 with the following main objectives:

Establishing European guidance for standardised microbiological sampling testing methods and results interpretation in forensic cases
Promoting cooperation between microbiologists, pathologists, and other specialists with shared points of interest

ESGFOR welcomes any person interested in ancient DNA, phylogenetics, organ and tissue transplants, biosafety and bioterrorism.
