Membership

a. Requirements of membership are:

  • be interested in infectious disease in primary care

  • be active in primary health care and/or research and/or educational activities in the field of infectious diseases in primary care

b. Procedure to become a member of the Study group: everyone on wishes to become a member should fill in a short application form (to be developed) and send it by e-mail to the secretary of the Study Group. The secretary assesses whether the application meets the requirements mentioned under – a- and decides accordingly. In case of doubt the chair of the Study Group is consulted.

Steering Committee

c. The Steering Committee consists of a chair, a secretary and a treasurer.

d. Requirements to be candidate for membership of the Steering Committee:

  • membership ESCMID
  • professionally active in primary care or primary care research
  • a curriculum vitae showing commitment and expertise in infectious diseases

e. Terms of office for each member of the steering is 4 years and the number of terms is one. However, the secretary can be re-elected once as chair.

f. Members of the Steering Committee are elected by majority of votes from the members of the Study Group. The quorum for having an election is eleven valid votes. Members of the Steering Committee cannot vote themselves.

g. The Steering Committee will meet at least twice a year.

Tasks of the Steering Committee

h. To organise an annual meeting of the Study Group at the annual ESCMID congress

i. To prepare annual reports on activities, budget and accounts of the Study Group.

j. To be responsible for discussion and approval of the annual report by the Study Group

k. To publish the annual report on the ESCMID website

l. To establish and maintain contacts between the Study Group and the General practice Respiratory Infection Network (GRIN)

m. To prepare and submit proposals for symposia and workshops for the Annual ESCMID congress

n. To take initiative for and organise educational activities within ESCMID

o. To take initiative for the development and publication of guidelines on the management of infectious diseases in primary care

p. To seek financial support for activities of the Study Group
