Membership of ESGARS is open to those interested in resistance surveillance at local, National and international levels, including representatives from government or corporate bodies.
All members must be approved by the ESGARS Executive Committee.
All regular ESGARS members are automatically considered associated ESCMID members, with no further obligation towards the Society (no membership fee).
Structural Organisation of ESGARS
An Executive Committee of seven members will be appointed by the membership for a period of three years and for a maximum of three consecutive terms.
The Executive Committee will appoint a President, Secretary and Treasurer to act on behalf of the society.
The ESGARS Executive Committee may identify specific projects for study and a project co-ordinator. The co-ordinators of the project will be invited to attend the Executive Committee meetings.
Activities of the ESGARS
Specific projects undertaken by the Study Group will be presented in workshops or symposia organised during the ECCMID.
The Study Group will be responsible for organising Post-graduate Education Courses and training sessions on antimicrobial resistance surveillance in collaboration with the Education Officer of ESCMID and other suitable organisation.
The Study Group will work with other ESCMID Study Groups whose interests overlap with those of the ESGARS.
