Improving Antibiotic Prescribing in Hospitals, ESCMID Postgraduate Education Course

ESCMID Study Group for Antibiotic Policies (ESGAP), the Serbian Association of Prevention and Infection Control (SAPIC) and the Serbian Society of Intensive Care Medicine (SSICM).

Course Objectives

This course provides participants with up-to-date background information and a practical approach to the emerging problem of antibiotic resistance and its influence on healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs). Through interactive sessions participants will have the possibility to discuss practical problems with leading experts in the field.

Target Audience

80 -100 participants from Serbia, Europe, Middle East and beyond. The organizing committee will accept applications from all clinical microbiologists, infectious disease physicians, especially trainees, ICU intensivists-anesthesiologists and surgeons who are interested in the study of antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections, and/or who are (or intend to be) members of Hospital Infection Control Committees.

Please download the registration form (see link on the right) and return it to the course administrative secretariat by 17 January 2011.

 

Registration Fee

Fee before / after 17 January 2011:
EUR 180 / 240 ESCMID, SAPIC & SSICM members
EUR 210 / 280 all others

The fee includes  the scientific sessions, printed course material, lunches, coffee breaks and accommodation, but not travel.

 

Attendance Grants

ESCMID provides a number of attendance grants for young attendees (40 years or younger) covering the registration fee, but no travel costs. Please submit your application until 17 January 2011 online on this website (follow the link on the right). If there are more applicants than available grants, preference will be given to ESCMID members. Applicants will be informed about their acceptance by 31 January 2011.

Please note that attendance grant application does not include registration for the course. Please register separately with the form supplied on the right.

 

CME Accreditation

The organizer of the course will apply for European CME accreditation through EACCME.
