Course Objectives
- Review the present knowledge on the microbiology and epidemiology of invasive fungal infections including rare and emerging fungal species
- Review the age-dependent and fungus-specific host immune response to various fungi
- Evaluate conventional methods and new techniques for diagnosis of invasive fungal infections
- Discuss criteria for prophylaxis and treatment of invasive fungal infections
- Discuss interactive relations between the mycology lab and clinic
