Research grants 2013
These grants help young and excellent investigators to pursue groundbreaking research in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases.
The application period for 2013 closed on 12 November 2012, 12.00h CET. We will be accepting applications again starting July 2013 for 2014.
Funding
The maximum amount granted per project is EUR 20000. This includes any potential overhead costs charged by your institution.
Reporting
The grantee must include in a separate file a detailed breakdown of the funds used. This breakdown is to be signed by the department head.
In addition the grantee must submit a two-page report to ESCMID upon completion of the research project. It should include:
• A short introduction summarizing current knowledge for the non-specialist
• The study hypothesis
• The main findings
• Conclusions from the investigation
Instead of the report, the grantee may submit proof of a published paper or abstract reporting results from the research project.
One of the above will be published on the ESCMID website with appropriate copyright reference if applicable and respecting of the appropriate embargo requirements.
Both the financial and final report shall be submitted within two months of project completion.
