At ESCMID, we want to support and encourage researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals from all corners of the globe to participate and experience the rewards of attending ESCMID Global. Every year, we offer a variety of grants and awards tailored specifically for this unique event.
The Travel Grants include coverage of the ESCMID Global registration fee and up to 500 EUR for travel expenses. It is important to note that the travel allowance is exclusively available to onsite participants and will be distributed during the Young Scientist Reception at ESCMID Global.

Recipients of the ESCMID travel grant are presenting authors of the highest-rated, accepted abstracts who have applied for the grant during the abstract submission process. The names of successful applicants may be showcased proudly on the ESCMID Global official website and other esteemed ESCMID publications, highlighting their outstanding achievements and contributions to the Society and the scientific community as a whole.
This grant covers registration, accommodation, and travel fees from your airport to the host city only.

To ensure grants are received by our most-eligible members, the Förderverein association will evaluate all grant applications thoroughly. Following this process, selected grantees will be promptly notified of their success.
ESCMID Global outreach grants cover the congress registration fee and offer a substantial travel allowance of up to 1300 EUR, to help offset travel and accommodation while attending ESCMID Global.

Each year, applications for outreach grants are welcome during regular abstract submission as part of the submission process. The ESCMID Global 2024 application process is now closed, but we look forward to receiving your requests for ESCMID Global 2025.
Grant applications will undergo careful evaluation by the ESCMID team. Notifications regarding the outcome of the grant selection process were sent in January 2024. For those selected as a grant recipient, your name may be proudly showcased on the ESCMID Global official website and featured in other esteemed ESCMID publications, highlighting the remarkable achievements and contribution of awardees to the Clinical Microbiology (CM) and Infectious Diseases (ID) community.
Upon being selected as the deserving recipient of the ISF/ESCMID Sepsis Aware, the ISF will arrange for the 500 USD prize to be sent via secure wire transfer directly to the bank account details provided by the awardee.
To be considered for this prestigious award, anyone with a sepsis-related ESCMID Global abstract, who is also a presenting author, may apply. Interested applicants should tick the related ISF/ESCMID Sepsis award box during abstract submission to indicate their interest in being recognised.
This prestigious nomination is granted to the presenter of the highest-rated sepsis-related ESCMID Global abstract submission. Chosen by the esteemed ISF steering committee, the award recipient is presented during a symposium jointly hosted by ISF and the ESCMID Global programme committee. The awardee must be present in person to accept this award. After the ceremony, the winner will be asked to deliver a short oral presentation highlighting their ground-breaking, award-winning research.The awardee’s name and the project title will be published in the ESCMID Global final programme, the ESCMID yearbook, and the ESCMID website to spotlight the work and inspire others with their achievements. Applications for this opportunity are integrated into the abstract submission process for ESCMID Global each year.
