ESCMID President expresses wish to resign from his position

Javier Garau resigns from his position and from the Executive Committee for personal reasons. In accordance with the ESCMID bylaws, the Executive Committee members welcome Giuseppe Cornaglia as their new leader.

3rd International Day for Fighting Infection

The 3rd Infection Day held on 23 April 2010 in Florence, Italy. It covered milestones in the history of infections.

Summer School early registration closes 6 May

Plan to join us in Cappadocia, Turkey from 3 to 9 July 2010. We have an exciting interactive programme lined up covering diverse topics in CM/ID as well as career advice. Especially tailored to young MDs and scientists!

ECCMID 2010 - 7635 delegates attended

Delegates from 100 countries attended 156 sessions. Altogether over 235 contact hours were offered. Abstracts and presentations from the 15 educational workshops are now online.
Awards and grants recipients also received their awards at the ECCMID.

Two new ESCMID Study Groups

The two new groups focus on PK/PD of anti-infectives and implant-associated infections. Visit their websites to find out about their activities.

New ESCMID functions

Erdal Akalin was appointed by the EC as the new responsible for practice guidelines. José Maria Miro was selected as the Chairperson for the HIV Advisory Subcommittee.

Grants available for pandemic influenza forum in China

The forum takes place from 24 to 25 July 2010 in Qingdao, China, organized by the Chinese CDC. Attendance grants are available for a number of ESCMID members who can apply until 18 May 2010.

Just launched - the EU Partner Search Platform

We aim to help collaborative multi-centre research groups find potential collaborators. You can post your request for partnership and also search for new partners free-of-charge.
