New ESCMID Study Group
EPASG is a newly formed ESCMID Study Group, which starts its activities in the field of PK/PD of anti-infectives. The constitutional meeting was held at the 20th ECCMID in Vienna.
First Symposium
- Symposium after the ECCMID 2010 in Vienna: Special PK/PD topics in collaboration with ISAP, 13 April 2010, 14.00-17.30
Programme
Planned Activities
- Educational workshops at ECCMID
- 2 day postgraduate education and technical workshop before ECCMID 2011: State-of-the-art knowledge from expert educators and hands-on experience in PK/PD and dosing.
- Educational workshops in collaboration with ISAP (International Society of Anti-Infective Pharmacology) at ICAAC 2010, 2011, 2012
- Symposium during ECCMID 2011: Reducing of selection pressure by optimized dosing
- Symposium during other congresses (e.g. ICAAC, SSAC, ICC)
- Establish collaboration with other relevant study groups (e.g. PK/PD study group of ICC), ID societies, EU initiatives (e.g., ABS International), EMEA (optimized dosage regimes of old drugs and PK/PD studies of future drugs)
- Initiate production of European guidelines for dosing of anti-infective drugs
- Initiate planning of meta-analyses on antibiotic dosing of selected infections (otitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia, UTI etc.)
